Omar M Durrani, MBBS, FRCS Ophth

Omar is a Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon at The Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre and has 15 years of experience in the field. He is an Ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) who has completed additional advanced training in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery as it relates to the eyelids and surrounding structures.

He is a Hon. Senior Lecturer with the University of Birmingham and has a research interest in immune mechanisms of ophthalmic diseases and haemostasis with over 40 scientific publications. Omar lectures extensively across the UK and internationally and helps train other surgeons in minimally invasive/keyhole surgery.

Omar received his ophthalmic training in the West Midlands and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He also has specialist training in the use of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers (Restylane, Juviderm, etc) for reducing wrinkles, lines and facial volume enhancement (non-surgical face lift). Omar is also an acknowledged expert in the rejuvenation of the tear trough area (dark circle under eyes, shift-workers eyes).
